Programs & Pricing Set-up

The Program Maintenance window is where you enter details of the programs or events that you will be holding and set up the main pricing schedules and categories.

For example you might have a concert which is performed on a number of days or times in a season. So you firstly enter the name of the concert in the Program box and select the auditorium where the concert will be held.  If you are holding the same Program in more than one Auditorium/Venue, you set up a separate record for each Auditorium/Venue.

Then you set up your Seating Chart. If your venue offers reserved seating, HandyTix will create a Pricing Map for your specific Auditorium/Venue. This forms the basis of your Seating Chart and is a graphical representation of your Auditorium/Venue showing individual seats by row and seat number and divided into different Sections such as Balcony, Stalls etc. as required.

On your Seating Chart, you next specify the zones which correspond to different price levels. These are called Price Categories.  The Price Categories do not have to correspond with the Sections you defined above. HandyTix gives you complete flexibility to create different Seating Charts for different performances if you wish, such as performances held at different dates or times.

After creating your Seating Chart with the different Price Categories, you then define your Pricing Names.  These are the names you give  to different sets of prices applying at different times or different performances, such as Evening, Matinee, Preview etc.

You then set the base Price which will apply to each Price Category. Typically this will be the full adult ticket price. The way that HandyTix calculates prices of other types of tickets that you will also use such as Child, Senior, Members etc. is by treating all other prices as discounts (or premiums) to this base Price. You have the option of setting these other ticket prices either as a fixed dollar amount, or as a discount or premium to the base price in either dollar or percentage terms.

In this same window you also set up different service charges, transaction fees, commissions etc which can either be based on individual ticket prices or the total transaction value.  Again these charges can either be fixed dollar values, or a discount or premium to the ticket price/transaction value in either dollar or percentage terms.

Additional tabs at the bottom of the page open up more data entry fields including formats used for ticket and voucher printing, default tax rates to be applied to ticket sales and web addresses that you  want customers to jump to when they click on a program info. link on your online ticket selling page.
