Venue/Auditorium
The name of the specific auditorium, cinema, stadium or other seating location where an event is being held.

Dynamic Sections

Rankings
Defines the order in which seats are selected by the system when tickets are sold on “Best available” basis. Rankings can be set automatically by defining a single rank point (where the ranking decreases the further you radiate from this rank point) or each seat or group of seats can be assigned individual rankings.
Gates
Where a venue/auditorium is divided in to sections, named gates can be assigned to each section which are printed on tickets to identify appropriate entry point of the venue for patrons.
Venue Map / Seating Chart

Program
The group name for a series of Events (performances) which are held at different dates and/or times.

The main Venue map where all seats in all Sections have been assigned to specific Price Categories e.g. Front Stalls, Rear Stalls etc. For any performance, a different Pricing Map can be used if required.
Price Categories / Price Level Name
The set of prices (Rates) which apply to defined areas in the Venue e.g. Front Stalls, Rear Stalls etc. Price categories are set independently of Sections. So for example a Section defined as “Stalls”, can be divided into Price Categories of “Front Stalls” and “Rear Stalls” etc.
Pricing Names
The name given to define different price schedules which are typically used for different classes of performances or performance held at different times. For example a theater may set separate pricing schedules for Evening, Matinee, Preview or Dress Rehearsal performances (these become the Pricing Names).
Prices
For each Price Category / Price Level Name, a (base) Price is set. All other ticket prices are established on the basis of discounts or premiums to these base Prices. So in most cases, the base Price would be the price of a full Adult ticket.
A different (base) Price must be set for each Price Category / Price Level Name within each Pricing Name.
Rates
Rates are discounts (or premiums) which establish all other ticket price levels in relation to the (base) Price, such as Concession, Student, Child etc. Rates can be established either as a fixed dollar amount, a discount or premium in dollar terms off the base Price or as a percentage discount or premium to the base Price. If a Rate is set as a fixed dollar amount however, the rate can be applied to all price Categories and Pricing Names.
Rates are also used to set service charges, transaction fees, commission and discounts. These can be set either as fixed dollar amounts or as a percentage of the ticket price or total transaction value.
Season
A time period (typically 12 months but can be any interval) which encompasses a group of events.
Season Tickets
A Season Ticket or subscription ticket is a ticket price that applies to a group of events or performances in a specific time period or “season” that has previously been defined. For example if there are 10 events or performances in a specified season, a season ticket called “Series A” could comprises 6 of the 10 events, a season ticket called “Series B” comprise 7 of any 10 events and so forth. For each Season Ticket, a separate Season Ticket Rate (and Price Adjustments for Child, Concession etc if required) is established.

Vouchers are typically issued for online ticket purchases. The customer is given a unique voucher number (ID) when they purchase tickets which they present to the box office prior to a performance/event in exchange for actual tickets

Coupons are used as an alternative payment method. They can be issued in different currencies with a fixed exchange rate established. Change may optionally be given if the value of a transaction is less than the value of the coupon.
Gift cards
Stored value (debit) cards which can be created in any dollar value and given any name. Gift cards are set with specific validity dates (start and finish) and can be printed with a system generated barcode or an external barcode for non system printed cards.
Gift cards can be printed with a customized message at time of sale.
Stored value of gift cards can be “topped up”
Flex Passes
Similar to Gift cards – the only difference being the name given to the card and the printed format
Discount Cards
Stored value cards which allow a specific customer to purchase tickets at a pre-defined discount rate. Card validity can be set for specific start and end dates, seasons, groups of events, maximum number of uses and allow/deny repeat use for same program. Additional discount can be applied as required.
